Case Studies & Demonstration Projects

The 7th Generation Building Guild is pleased to highlight the following case studies and demonstration projects, all located within Corvallis, which exemplify green building construction principles put into practice.

Case study projects are typically those developments, which were funded through private or public efforts. Each case study includes information about the project such as who designed it, who paid for it, and what its unique "green" features are.

Each demonstration project was completed by the CSC (Corvallis Sustainability Coalition) - Green Building Task Group, and features specific green building components that serve to demonstrate to the general public, how it works and how it was built.

The First Alternative Co-Op Rain Harvesting project was completed in 2007. This project utilizes the existing roof surfaces of the First Alternative Co-Op natural foods store, and collects rainwater into a cistern, to be used for irrigating plants located on site. Excess capacity rainwater is diverted back into the Co-Op's existing downspout / City stormwater system.
